What makes our content different than any of the others, you may ask? To answer that, let me give you a little background on our testing and research guy. He's just an Average Dude, like most of us. Not an ex-Seal or Ranger or grizzled backwoods-dweller. He's never seen one episode of Duck Dynasty and has seen more Man vs Food than Man vs Wild. He is ex-military with some field experience so he is no stranger to living in a tent. But those days are a couple of decades gone by and the nature of grappling with nature has changed. A lot.

Average Dude realizes that having all the cool equipment sitting in the garage is comforting, but can't replace real-world experience. In the coming weeks and months, Average Dude will give you just that. He will take real gear and put it through its paces.
